  19. MacApp 2.0 is essentially Script manager compatible. However, there are still a
  20. few bugs left here and there. One that I know of: if the label string of a
  21. TPopup is larger than its frame, the string is truncated in a way which will
  22. not work with multi-byte character systems.

  24. I believe that the reason why this is so is that developers in general, and
  25. MacApp developers in particular don't pay enough attention to the script
  26. manager compatibility issue. This results in less testing, less bug reports,
  27. and less robust code in MacApp.

  29. I really think that the script manager approach is flawed, because it is an
  30. optional goodie. It should not be possible to go without it. One simple
  31. example: in introductory classes to Mac development, it should be taught as
  32. equally basic together with Quickdraw, the Resource Manager, and the Memory
  33. Manager.
